Schoolchildren went to study Magzhan Zhumabayev’s native land

The local history and research expedition “Tugan elge tagzym” continues at the Nazarbayev Intellectual School of Petropavlovsk. 

On the third day of the project, schoolchildren went to the native lands of Magzhan Zhumabayev and paid tribute to the memory of the great son of the Kazakh people on the eve of his birthday.
Magzhan Zhumabayev district is the birthplace of the bright star of Kazakh literature, the famous poet, the great figure of the Alash Horde Magzhan Zhumabayev. Magzhan devoted his short life to the struggle for freedom and the future of his people. June 25 marks 129 years since the birth of our great countryman. First of all, as part of a research expedition to the district, the children visited the Magzhan Zhumabayev Museum in the village of Sarytomar. Here are collected objects used by the great poet himself, which you will not find in any museum. The students also got acquainted with documents telling about the life and work of Magzhan and his relatives. In addition, the students were shown rare photographs of the Zhumabayev family and the only surviving book by Magzhan. The museum’s fund is constantly updated with new and modern research about Magzhan. The children intend to summarize this information and prepare their projects.
Then the students of shanyrak “Urpak” and representatives of the student self-government visited the district museum of local history, which is located in the district center – the city of Bulayevo. Various historical exhibits, documents telling about the life and everyday life of the inhabitants of this region in different years are stored here. The guys asked questions of interest to them, collected information that will serve as a basis for further research work.
