Nazarbayev Intellectual School of Chemistry and Biology in Petropavlovsk joined the network of the Intellectual Schools of the country on July 4, 2015. An educational institution for 720 students was built in the Bereke microdistrict.
The main goal of the work of the Intellectual School is to provide the younger generation with quality education, introduce innovations in the educational process, and bring up an educated, competitive, critically thinking, and able to serve the society generation.
The school is taught by leading teachers of our region who have successfully passed the competitive selection. Among them are 5 qualified specialists from South Africa, Kenya, Egypt and the Philippines, who also wished to share their experiences.
Competitive selection of students is aimed at admitting children capable of learning in natural and mathematical subjects: chemistry, biology, mathematics, physics, and computer science. Today, 632 holders of the “Orken” educational grant and one student on a paid basis study at the Intellectual School.
Along with an in-depth study of chemistry and biology, mathematics, and physics, the school pays great attention to the study of the humanities. In order to achieve high results in the educational process, the school is equipped with modern equipment, all conditions have been created for comprehensive in-depth education of students, the formation and development of research skills, and the practical application of knowledge.
The school consists of educational blocks and a dormitory. The educational block consists of 65 classrooms, including 22 language classrooms, 6 physics classrooms, 6 chemistry classrooms, 10 mathematics classrooms, 5 biology classrooms, history, ecology classrooms, and others. Our special pride is the newest laboratories of robotics, nanotechnology, and biotechnology. Also, the school provides children for individual lessons, technical modeling, art technology, psychological relief, integration of teaching and information technologies, a few universal classrooms, and areas for individual work, and a library with an impressive collection of literature and rare books.
Another feature of the Intellectual School is a modern dormitory for 136 people, which meets the standards of safety and comfort for children. Inside the sleeping block there are rooms for 4 students with a bathroom. The dormitory provides a room for a teacher on duty, a room for meeting with parents, and a study library for preparing for classes. Laundry, doctor’s office and medical isolation are also located in this block.
The school pays special attention to the rest and physical development of students. After school, children have the opportunity to relax in the greenhouse with various tropical plants. There is also a gym, a choreographic hall, a tennis court, several sports grounds for basketball and volleyball, a hockey rink, and a climbing wall. One of the sports halls is equipped with mobile stands for 120 seats. All playgrounds are covered with a special coating to ensure the safety of schoolchildren during sports activities.
