The celebration of May 1 – the Day of Unity of the People of Kazakhstan – began at the Nazarbayev Intellectual School in Petropavlovsk.
The Day of Unity of the People of Kazakhstan is a continuation of the wonderful traditions of our multinational people, symbolizing peace and harmony, is one of the long-awaited state holidays of the country. The students living in the school dormitory were the first to celebrate the Day of unity of the people of Kazakhstan. The guys organized the festival “Under One Shanyrak” and presented the Kazakh, Uzbek, Russian, Korean, Turkish and Tatar peoples to the guests. Representatives of the Regional Assembly of People of Kazakhstan were invited to the festival. Honored guests, schoolchildren and their parents celebrated the festival with large dastarkhans covered with national dishes.
During the event, each group provided detailed information about their chosen ethnic group, their national dress, cuisine, customs and traditions. The students also danced national dances and gave the audience a festive mood.
Today we organized a presentation of the Russian people. To do this, we collected information on the Internet, asked our grandparents. We cooked costumes together, and my grandmother baked a loaf for us. We hope that the participants of the holiday liked the ceremony of the Russian wedding,” says Amina Golovina, a student of the 9th grade.
At the end of the event, the guests expressed their gratitude and congratulated the students. The director of the school, Daniyar Ualiyev, presented letters of thanks to the parents who helped the students.
